Bruce was somewhat doomed from the start. His father never wanted a child, and when his mother gave birth it was a long and painful process, one his father was certain would take her life. His father often kept his mother away from him in his early early years, leaving him with a neglectful nanny to ensure his mother wouldn’t waste her time on the child. He began to suspect ill of Bruce, as he was incredibly capable and smart for his age as he grew older. Even beginning to think Bruce was a mutant. His abuse grew physical and soon extended to his mother as well when she’d try to stop it.

When he was 8 she finally tried to run away with Bruce, but they were caught on their way to the car and his father killed her on the curb. His father then strong-armed Bruce into saying she’d tripped and that he’d never raised a hand to them, only for his father to admit as much when he got drunk in a bar. His father was institutionalized and Bruce was sent off to live with his aunt, this is when he began to really repress his emotions and recoil in the fear he’d get others hurt as well.

As Bruce got older he began to exhibit signs of mental illness, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. He wouldn’t actually be diagnosed with DID proper.

In university he met Betty Ross, who he quickly became smitten with. The two grew close and eventually entered a relationship. When Bruce started looking for funding for his projects he was turned down at nearly every opportunity until Betty convinced her father to give him a shot with military projects. Given Banner’s affinity for radiology, and specifically gamma radiation, this eventually culminated in the production of what would be known as the Bannerbomb, or the Little Green Man.

It’s at some point now that Banner’s father was released from his institution and Bruce offered to let him stay with him, quickly tensions rose and the two fought. Bruce left to visit his mother’s grave and his father followed, leading to another more physical fight, at some point Bruce kicked his father into a grave, his head cracking against it and dying subsequently. It’s implied that it was Devil Hulk who hid the memory from Bruce and covered it up as a mugging due to the fact Bruce would surely turn himself in for it.

This was a nuclear weapon harnessing gamma radiation, Banner wanted no real part of it, having wanted to focus more on medical use of radiation but he took some solace in the idea that this would only be used as a strategic defence.

Well, things didn’t go as planned, in an attempt to vacate someone from the grounds of the bomb testing site during the countdown Bruce was caught in the blast, and this would create what we know is the Hulk, though only after night had fallen. Rick Jones, the teen who was trespassing on the testing ground, helped Bruce try to find a cure and evade capture for as long as they could manage before the truth was finally revealed that Bruce was directly involved with the Hulk, and a short time later, that he was the Hulk.

Eventually when it came to be that the Avengers were formed to face Loki, the Hulk was one of those first members, even if he defected shortly after. Since then he’s been on and off of the team, though now, after he died at the hands of Hawkeye, at his own request.. He’d come back for good recently, and he was making one hell of a show. Releasing a manifesto to the world that he would tear down capitalism from the legs it stands on, to smash the corrupt society we are trapped in, and rebuild it anew. One thing after another happened in a horrifying series of events that eventually lead to a confrontation to the One Above and One Below all in hell with the help of the Fantastic Four. Bruce has been laying low and finally making peace with the hulks and finding their proper balance between them.

Personality: Please answer the following questions about your character. Be as clear as possible, and provide examples where you can. You can format this section as either 1) individual sections for each question; or 2) a more freeform essay/paragraph that covers all the topics. Please do not exceed 1200 words total.

NOTE: Bruce has D.I.D, dissociative personality disorder, for the application I'll be covering the three who Front the most, otherwise more info will be posted up about all the most active and recently dormant members of the system in this System Guide Post once I have it completed, for now it's a WIP though.

1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.
Also covered in their PERMISSIONS post!

Bruce is very closed in, he walks and carries himself like he's trying to be much smaller than he already is. He often fidgets/rubs his hands together and keeps his head down. He doesn't often look people in the eye unless he's more wary of them, instead he keeps a careful eye on peoples body language instead. He doesn't tend to make a big deal of himself and keeps on the edge of things, preferring to be unnoticed.

Bruce is a very scraggly individual. Standing about 5'6. Best described as kind of a drowned-rat of a man, he's scrawny and malnourished, he's ratty and scruffy and usually in cheap or ill-fitting clothes that he's pilfered off someone else's clothesline or shoplifted out of a goodwill. He has pale skin and darkened circles around brown eyes. His hair is a medium length, curly mullet-like style that seems to have been hand-cut. He typically wears very unassuming and ratty clothes as people pay him less attention that way. Baseball caps are also a staple, or hooded jackets.

Joe is grander-than-life. He likes to act the part of a sleazy mobster, which to be fair he IS. Or was. Regardless he hams up how terrible he is in a used-car-salesman kinda way to make sure people don't pay him more mind than they have to or assume he and Bruce are the same person.

Joe, can more or less freely be both a Hulk or front in Bruce's body. He looks the same as Bruce if a bit greasier in their human-body. He dresses a lot more flashy, in tropical shirts and cheap suits. He also wears sunglasses and slicks back his hair more. As a hulk joe is 6'6, grey, and otherwise pretty similar to the other Hulks.

Hulk is very emotional. His anger and fear are strong so he comes off as very standoffish and rageful on first meetings, especially because he comes out when Bruce shuts down in anger or fear. He is quick to lash out but cares deeply for his friends and loves to make new ones when he's sure you won't hurt him. N

Hulk (typically) only comes out in hulk-form, being a large, green and neanderthal-esque figure. He stands around 7-8 ft tall, though it can vary depending on how angry he is. He's a radioactive green and very muscular, though not chiselled/body-builder in nature. He's built more like a strongman who balances muscle and fat.

2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?

BRUCE believes in doing right by the world. He feels he has a debt to it and to some degree a debt in kind to be recognized as more than someone who destroys everything they touch. Ever since his system's confrontation with the one above all, the reveal of his avatar/chosen type position under their divinity as a counter weight, this gravity of having to chose what kind of person he will be has increased tenfold. He has a bleeding heart and wants to make the world bigger and brighter, while admittedly the majority of his system is more self-serving and protective of their own, they still want to support him when it comes down to it.

JOE as stated above, is or was one of the more self-serving types. He used to vy for total control of the body against Bruce and Hulk, but in recent time has come to appreciate the balance they hold together. He has shifted from a persecutor alter to more of a protector. He still doesn't care for much of the goals Bruce has but wants to see the kid able to achieve something even remotely as close to the aspirations he has.

HULK meanwhile doesn't have many goals, and is largely motivated by the moment at hand. Once upon a time he also wanted to be the sole front of the system and to shut Banner up, especially given how Banner used to persecute and repress Hulk. Still, he wants peace and friends he can trust, he wants to be able to simply exist as himself without hurting others or being hurt himself. Hulk often claims he wants to be left alone, but in reality doesn't really grasp what he actually wants is to be loved and to be around those who aren't scared or angry at him. He just doesn't know much of what that's like.

3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?

BRUCE has many shortcomings even if they're not what most people tend to assume. He forgives too easily, even if that forgiveness harms him in particular or even poses risks to others. He hopes too strongly that change will come for the better where he should cut off a toxic presence in his life at the source. His bleeding heart also causes him to be hypercritical of how he interacts with others himself, and to drive this sort of Martyr complex that he will make something of himself in spite of hurt he causes if he can have one final act of grace to help those people.

His biggest regret by far has to do with the death of his mother. Largely his childhood was full of neglect, fear and abuse at the hands of his father with far too many instances to recount here. His mother was the one shining light among the dark for much of his early life. She was an angel in his eyes. When Bruce was around 9 years old his mother tried to flee with him. His father realized it and confronted them on the curb where he attacked her and bashed her head in. The court attempted to get the truth out but Bruce was intimidated by his father into lying and feeding the idea Brian said that she tripped. The truth was revealed later when Brian was drunk in a bar bragging, but the instance has been the largest scar among many for Bruce’s psyche.

Bruce, despite being a child at the time, still feels this looming sense of responsibility for his birth and presence causing such strife, as well as being unable to do more to save her or prevent her death.

JOE and his flaws are more obvious. Or that's what he'd like you to assume anyways. Though objectively he has improved and doesn't buy into the toxic masculinity and steeling against any vulnerability as much as he used to so strongly, he still tends to put up that barrier of playing the part of the sleazebag creep who you don't want to linger too long around. He pushes the closest people to him away and is scared of letting himself care or be cared for with other people.

Ultimately he plays a character in his day to day and his biggest regret is messing up with Betty come the events just prior to the end of immortal Hulk, where he admitted he'd let Bruce linger in hell while they had their tryst. He admitted he also wanted to become a better person for her ultimately, but was rebuffed and left by her.

HULK and their flaws are a bit more esoteric in comparison. Since Hulk's faculties are largely regressed to that of a child- though occasionally with some more lucid or grown moments of maturity- it's not exactly something easily worked through or something that can be controlled. Hulk's flaws largely revolve around not understanding and being unable to comprehend the gravity of hurt other people feel. Hulk's understanding of death and pain and suffering is either greatly under-exaggerated or too over-exaggerated. Hulk doesn't know his own strength and tends to lash out too strongly for too little reason, which causes people to be hurt or worse in turn and it comes down to Hulk being unable to grasp that consequence or impact the way the average (adult) person would.

Hulk, having manifested early on in Bruce's life, and having been the cushion against the abuse and suffering shares the same ultimate regret with Bruce, though he blames Banner more than he blames himself, and feels he should have been allowed out to protect her and 'smash' their father for good at the time. Regardless of being a child then and now when you get down to it.

Abilities & Inventory: Many of Bruce's powers come in the form of being able to transform in the Hulk. Many of these abilities can carry over to Bruce in small ways though. Perhaps even if he ends up feeding his entity, rather than becoming a full Hulked-out form, he can use the Hulk's traits more strongly on his own.

I do humbly request help with how many/what specific nerfs Hulk will likely need. I know the unlimited strength is one and can pretty easily reason it’s limited due to a cap on ability harnessed by the tattoos when acquired, I just want some insight into what those limits should be or if it would be a case-by-case and best judgment situation.

That being said, these abilities are as follows.

Transformation: Bruce under physical duress or psychological stress he'll transform into a giant more monstrous form. He gains much more muscle mass and brute strength. Though he looses control of fronting in the process, falling to his Savage Hulk personality, or potentially Joe. He becomes 7-8 feet tall, the exact height tends to vary depending on how angry he is, with a more bulky build and green skin, though sometimes grey or red depending on who is 'driving'. There's also quite a few other effects.

Scaling Superhuman Strength: Also scaling on his anger he has superhuman strength that is near unmatched. His potential is unlimited, though each Hulk persona has a base strength value, of those present: Joe is the weakest in hulk form, then comes Savage Hulk, and then Devil Hulk (who is dormant at this time). The Hulk's immeasurable strength is directly proportional to his level of rage, excitement, and stress, this is also affected by how much radiation he can consume or to a lesser extent: Dark Magic.

Superhuman Speed/Stamina: Similar to the above it scales with rage, excitement and stress, and greatly surpasses the average human.

Superhuman Leaping: Hulk can bound and jump great distances, having been recorded on a relative horizontal of 1000 miles. He is extremely precise and has great environmental and geographical accuracy.

Regenerative Healing/Superhuman Durability: It's not necessarily that the Hulk is invincible. While difficult to pierce his skin or damage him. it's also the fact that whatever does manage to get through him doesn't stick. It heals faster than you can even really see it cut through him, even healing around whatever caused the wound before it can pass through or be withdrawn. He can regenerate from practically anything, even able to regenerate dismembered parts back together when they were separated from one another. Bruce himself is also immune to diseases because of this.

Reactive Adaptation: Similar to his transformation and regenerative healing, Hulk can adapt to a number of environments. Such as the depths of the oceans, the altitudes of mountains, heat of volcanoes and even the vacuum of space.

Extrasensory Perception: Bruce and the Hulks can see ghosts, astral projections. Things like that. He developed it out of fear of his father's ghost haunting him. They can also smell lies.

ARMADA SELECTION

Corsairs are the fit for Bruce. Even when he means the best he is a chaotic good sort of force who despises typical law and rule and challenges it at every course. Especially in recent years and the point he's taken from he's also challenged order in a more neutral and even seemingly evil/malicious way. Though he wants the best for those around him he isn't opposed to playing dirty or by his own rules. I think Corsairs represent that challenge of authority and balance he represents.

About Me

This incarnation of the Hulk was likely the first of his alters. We had long term hints at this Hulk’s involvement in Bruce’s early childhood but have since gotten more firm confirmation in Immortal Hulk.

We’ve also gotten clear confirmation on the age of the Hulk, being about as old as his first appearances between the ages of four to six years old.

This explains a lot of Hulk’s ‘Savage’ behaviours being he represents a fearful child, angry at the world and simple wishing to be left alone because everyone around him always seems to cause him harm.

Hulk is in reality a very gentle person. He loves animals, he gets along well with kids (likely by the nature of him being one) and he enjoys spending time with his friends when they’re not persecuting him..

Which is unfortunately a very common occurrence.

As sunset came about after Bruce’s exposure to the Gamma Radiation he turned into a powerful humanoid ‘monster’ that was dubbed the Hulk by General Ross.

He seemed to possess little of Bruce’s memory and had a different/lesser level of intelligence and understanding of his surroundings. Despite this he did have flashes of remembering events and people Bruce had experienced and known when not as the Hulk.

Rick Jones aided the Hulk in staying hidden from the military and would continue to remain a friend and ally to the jolly green giant. This would be the Hulk many would come to know and recognize over the years. Characterized as the ‘Savage’ Hulk for his anger and simple way of thinking.

Bruce himself spent many, many years trying to cure himself of the Hulk, not realizing the Hulk was an alter of his that was given the means to front when they’d become a mutate.

About Me

Bruce is a complex individual, if individual is even the right term. He is more like several large and more volatile individuals packed into the body of an insecure intellectual. Bruce himself is seen to be mild mannered and often reserved. He tends to keep to himself and when he does interact with others it’s often brief and soft spoken. He tries to be compassionate and understanding of most people but there’s a fair amount of times he’s been at the end of his rope and let his emotions take over, maybe it’s just a venting rant, or telling someone off about their harmful habits, or maybe it’s more than that.

Bruce was somewhat doomed from the start. His father never wanted a child, and when his mother gave birth it was a long and painful process, one his father was certain would take her life. His father often kept his mother away from him in his early early years, leaving him with a neglectful nanny to ensure his mother wouldn’t waste her time on the child. He began to suspect ill of Bruce, as he was incredibly capable and smart for his age as he grew older. Even beginning to think Bruce was a mutant. His abuse grew physical and soon extended to his mother as well when she’d try to stop it.

When he was 8 she finally tried to run away with Bruce, but they were caught on their way to the car and his father killed her on the curb. His father then strong-armed Bruce into saying she’d tripped and that he’d never raised a hand to them, only for his father to admit as much when he got drunk in a bar. His father was institutionalized and Bruce was sent off to live with his aunt, this is when he began to really repress his emotions and recoil in the fear he’d get others hurt as well.

As Bruce got older he began to exhibit signs of mental illness, including anxiety, depression, and PTSD. He wouldn’t actually be diagnosed with DID proper.

In university he met Betty Ross, who he quickly became smitten with. The two grew close and eventually entered a relationship. When Bruce started looking for funding for his projects he was turned down at nearly every opportunity until Betty convinced her father to give him a shot with military projects. Given Banner’s affinity for radiology, and specifically gamma radiation, this eventually culminated in the production of what would be known as the Bannerbomb, or the Little Green Man.

It’s at some point now that Banner’s father was released from his institution and Bruce offered to let him stay with him, quickly tensions rose and the two fought. Bruce left to visit his mother’s grave and his father followed, leading to another more physical fight, at some point Bruce kicked his father into a grave, his head cracking against it and dying subsequently. It’s implied that it was Devil Hulk who hid the memory from Bruce and covered it up as a mugging due to the fact Bruce would surely turn himself in for it.

This was a nuclear weapon harnessing gamma radiation, Banner wanted no real part of it, having wanted to focus more on medical use of radiation but he took some solace in the idea that this would only be used as a strategic defence.

Well, things didn’t go as planned, in an attempt to vacate someone from the grounds of the bomb testing site during the countdown Bruce was caught in the blast, and this would create what we know is the Hulk, though only after night had fallen. Rick Jones, the teen who was trespassing on the testing ground, helped Bruce try to find a cure and evade capture for as long as they could manage before the truth was finally revealed that Bruce was directly involved with the Hulk, and a short time later, that he was the Hulk.

Eventually when it came to be that the Avengers were formed to face Loki, the Hulk was one of those first members, even if he defected shortly after. Since then he’s been on and off of the team, though now, after he died at the hands of Hawkeye, at his own request.. He’d come back for good recently, and he was making one hell of a show. Releasing a manifesto to the world that he would tear down capitalism from the legs it stands on, to smash the corrupt society we are trapped in, and rebuild it anew. One thing after another happened in a horrifying series of events that eventually lead to a confrontation to the One Above and One Below all in hell with the help of the Fantastic Four.

Bruce has been laying low and finally making peace with the hulks and finding their proper balance between them.

Robert Bruce Banner, AKA The Incredible Hulk has an immense history full of varied interpretations and characterizations. Though the focus of this study is going to be summarizing and laying out the workings of his System, IE ; Who else exists as an alter as per his having D.I.D or Dissociative Identity Disorder. 

Before we begin, some keywords you may find useful to know, if you don't have a strong grasp on this condition can be found on this helpful research ORG website.

Now for some background..

TW: CHILD ABUSE, MARTIAL ABUSE, SPOUSAL MURDER

Robert Bruce Banner was a famed Nuclear Physicist known for his work with Gamma Radiation. He was born in Dayton, Ohio to Rebecca and Brian Banner. Brian, Bruce’s Father, turned from neglectful to violently abusive over the years to both Bruce and his Rebecca. This caused great trauma and strife for Bruce which begun to catalyze in his development of D.I.D.

One day around the time Bruce was 8 or so years old, Rebecca had tried to flee the home with Bruce but was caught on the curb by Brian who in a drunken rage ended up killing her. He then manipulated Bruce into saying it was an accident and keeping the abuse a secret. It wasn’t until Brian was heard bragging about it when blackout drunk at a bar that he was arrested and sent to an asylum. Bruce then lived with his Aunt until he’d eventually leave for college.

Bruce’s DID wasn’t very obvious throughout most of his life, though his alters did still develop from his childhood onwards, we can count on at least three having been around before the famed incident that brought them to life.

After finishing up in university Bruce had tried to pitch funding for working in the medical field with radiation but he struggled to find anyone who would fund him. Eventually he’d had to turn to the Military who wanted to use his expertise to build a new type of nuclear bomb using Gamma Radiation.

During the test a teenager by the name of Rick Jones had driven out to the blast zone. Bruce demanded the test be shut down and he rushed out to remove the young man. Bruce’s lab assistant was a russian spy who didn’t stop the countdown and after thrusting Rick into a blast trench Bruce was hit with enough radiation to ‘kill thousands’. He didn’t stop screaming for eight long hours before finally coming to. It wasn’t until sunset that the effects of the blast became apparent.

From here on his D.I.D would realize fully and start presenting itself to both Bruce and the people around him, in the psychological effect on himself and in the way it manifests physically around who now fronts due to his Gamma Mutation.

Canon Abilities:
Many of Bruce's powers come in the form of being able to transform in the Hulk. Many of these abilities can carry over to Bruce in small ways though. Perhaps even if he ends up feeding his entity, rather than becoming a full Hulked-out form, he can use the Hulk's traits more strongly on his own. That being said, these abilities are as follows.

Transformation: Bruce under physical duress or psychological stress he'll transform into a giant more monstrous form. He gains much more muscle mass and brute strength. Though he looses control of fronting in the process, falling to his Savage Hulk personality, or potentially Joe and Devil. He becomes 7-8 feet tall, the exact height tends to vary depending on how angry he is, with a more bulky build and green skin, though sometimes grey or red depending on who is 'driving'. There's also quite a few other effects.

Scaling Superhuman Strength: Also scaling on his anger he has superhuman strength that is near unmatched. His potential is unlimited, though each Hulk persona has a base strength value, of those present: Joe is the weakest in hulk form, then comes Savage Hulk, and then Devil Hulk. The Hulk's immeasurable strength is directly proportional to his level of rage, excitement, and stress, this is also affected by how much radiation he can consume or to a lesser extent: Dark Magic.
Naturally in this setting it also be factored by how much fear he's consumed before or in the process of using said strength. As will be the case for everything else.

Superhuman Speed/Stamina: Similar to the above it scales with rage, excitement and stress, and greatly surpasses the average human.

Superhuman Leaping: Hulk can bound and jump great distances, having been recorded on a relative horizontal of 1000 miles. He is extremely precise and has great environmental and geographical accuracy.

Regenerative Healing/Superhuman Durability: It's not necessarily that the Hulk is invincible. While difficult to pierce his skin or damage him. it's also the fact that whatever does manage to get through him doesn't stick. It heals faster than you can even really see it cut through him, even healing around whatever caused the wound before it can pass through or be withdrawn. He can regenerate from practically anything, even able to regenerate dismembered parts back together when they were separated from one another. Bruce himself is also immune to diseases because of this.

Reactive Adaptation: Similar to his transformation and regenerative healing, Hulk can adapt to a number of environments. Such as the depths of the oceans, the altitudes of mountains, heat of volcanoes and even the vacuum of space.

Extrasensory Perception: Bruce and the Hulks can see ghosts, astral projections. Things like that. He developed it out of fear of his father's ghost haunting him. They can also smell lies.
Role: Myth
Role Qualities/Attributes: Namely horns and claws of varied sizes/style depending on who is fronting, a tail, and as hulk he will have a more rough, scaled hide in large plates, sharper teeth and more horns in the form of spikes and spines.
Role Reasoning: Bruce Banner is a complicated subject when it comes to morality and the idea of good versus evil. While he’s technically a hero, he’s not often considered one by his world at large. Even personally he’s long thought himself more of a monster than a man, let alone one fighting the good fight. In light of recent events, with Devil Hulk appearing to the front and the fight against Roxxon, Bruce has found him and his system hurting more people than he ever wanted to, yet he doesn’t necessarily regret or feel guilt for it. In his mind it’s deserved, and he’s finally letting himself be angry. Even without his manifesto and the reach of causing riots and terror in his name, he was given the ultimatum from the One Above All that he was this counterweight. He would be all encompassing good or evil and as it stands? He leans the latter if just as a means to an end to try and help.

With the role I've chosen I'd enjoy the chance for him to see himself as more than a monster even when engaged in the role of a Myth or Villain of sorts. Maybe allow him the chance to specifically turn to the side of being a Legend and Hero again. Overall I want to delve into his morals and how they define him.

❥ What was the most traumatic experience your character endured? How did this change them?

By far it was the death of his mother. Largely his childhood was full of neglect, fear and abuse at the hands of his father with far too many instances to recount here. His mother was the one shining light among the dark for much of his early life. She was an angel in his eyes. When Bruce was around 9 years old his mother tried to flee with him. His father realized it and confronted them on the curb where he attacked her and bashed her head in. The court attempted to get the truth out but Bruce was intimidated by his father into lying and feeding the idea Brian said that she tripped. The truth was revealed later when Brian was drunk in a bar bragging, but the instance has been the largest scar among many for Bruce’s psyche.

❥ What is the most important and defining relationship(s) in your character's life and why?

I think while it isn’t often seen as the most defining thing, it certainly is important above many if not all others, his relationship with his cousin, Jen. Jennifer Walters is now known as She-Hulk but for a long time she was just.. His friend. He was the elder cousin and looked after her when he could, he tried to be a good role model and they spent lots of time together before Bruce got older and eventually left for college. They have referred to each other as soulmates (platonic-ally of course) and Bruce has stated that if anything in his life made it worth living, it was that he had the hand in creating the best of them- the greatest hero to live in Jen.

❥ What is a headcanon (or two) you feel strongly about and that you prefer playing your character with? How is this supported in canon and why do you think it benefits the character's story?

That Bruce Banner reads as a trans man / allegory. I could talk for hours about the themes of mental illness and the effect / response society has on it but there’s also something so strongly tied to the experience of Transness and being a Trans Man in particular. I believe there’s a good amount of themes and motifs so to speak that relate to the experiences of dysphoria and dysmorphia, of trying to fit into society's mould, masking/stealthing and the way it bottles up with micro to outright aggression. The way it’s seen as a flaw to lash out at people who hurt you because you’re supposed to be level headed always, a good example of every other person like you. I play him as Trans because he speaks to these experiences in such a beautiful and closely relatable way.

❥ What are your characters dreams and nightmares? Do you believe they are more likely to obtain one rather than the other?

He’s definitely more prone to nightmares. He often has night terrors and avoids sleeping around others if possible. Some bad enough he’s turned into the Hulk in his sleep has made him nervous about bunking with or around people, especially if he sees them as more vulnerable compared to the likes of Thor for example. He has a lot of stress nightmares about current things in his lift but also more abstract and terrifying sequences. At the other side of the coin his dreams tend to be unassuming and plain, if not used as a means in his Mindscape to commune with his other Alters / Hulks.

❥ Is your character capable of forgiveness or will they hold a grudge until they die? Would anything ever make them change their mind?

Bruce Banner is far too forgiving. While he does hold grudges, he tends to always be willing to make amends. He’s forgiven nearly everyone who has slighted him, from Tony Stark, to Thaddeus Ross, and even his own Father when he was released into Bruce’s care shortly before he was killed by Bruce. In part it’s due to his own desire for second chances, to be seen as more than a monster, it makes him vulnerable to seeing other people in the same way. Even if they’ve done horrible things to him, he wants to believe anyone can change for the better and so his bleeding heart has more room than he should save for those who hurt him.

IN CHARACTER

PHYSICAL AFFECTION:

Bruce is extremely skittish when it comes to touch/affection. Even with those he greatly cares about and trusts he not only is nervous for his own safety but also for others. He doesn't tend to like extensive or prolonged physical contact with anyone at this point.

Joe is very touchy and very physical with anyone around him really. He isn't afraid to get into other people's personal space and he isn't afraid to bite the hands that get too close to his own when he doesn't allow it. At the same time any genuine platonic or romantic affection tends to be more awkward and hard for him to handle, he's getting better with it though.

Hulk is kind of similar to Bruce in this regard, but he doesn't think of it as complexly. He can be very gentle and caring and tender with other people but he doesn't trust easily.
PHYSICAL VIOLENCE:

Bruce isn't afraid to fight if he has to. He fights dirty and cheap and overall the best way to describe his style is not that he fights to win but more that he fights to survive. He tends to avoid it as much as possible, both out of aversion to violence as a whole and also out of habit with trying to prevent himself from turning into the Hulk.

Joe is contrarily, always ready for a fight. He likes fighting people, likes violence, likes figuring out how to hurt people. He's been reigning it in more and learning how to get along but still won't shy away

Hulk is, obviously, a very fight-oriented person. Not that he likes always lashing out at people, but being more than a frightened, angry child it can be hard for him to hold back. That being said and like mentioned before he's perfectly capable being gentle.
RELATIONSHIPS:

Bruce isn't exactly looking for romantic partners. He wouldn't be absolutely opposed to it but he's also very wary due to how all his relationships have turned out so far, and would only really consider it with someone from his world as well as someone who can hold their own if he were to Hulk-out.

Joe is more casual, he's warmed up to the idea of long-term partners now but he's still pretty wary of romance. Flings and casual partners are more his speed.

Hulk is a child in mentality and relative age. He only wants friends, please give him friends.
PSYCHIC & PSIONIC INFORMATION: The Gamma System as a whole is pretty hard to psychically or psionically read. They repel strong telepaths outright if not very quickly. If you were to actually invade their mind in a first-person manner, there's been a precedent for not coming back out.
MAGICAL INFORMATION: This is extremely complicated to the point you will just have to reach out to me to figure out what you can discern. Overall the vibe is: Rancid.
MEDICAL INFORMATION: They're all some level of lethally irradiated. It's contained within in them to the point it can't passively harm people, aside from form of like.. ingesting their blood, or if hulk were to be in full hulk-form then he can sometimes emit enough of an output it may have side-effects but that's relatively rare. This radiation can't ever really be cured, and always rebounds in his blood on a genetic level even if most of it were to be eliminated or seemingly entirely cursed. Bruce has been dissected/autopsied before so he has autopsy scars.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

VISUAL:

Bruce is a very scraggly individual. Standing about 5'6. Best described as kind of a drowned-rat of a man, he's scrawny and malnourished, he's ratty and scruffy and usually in cheap or ill-fitting clothes that he's pilfered off someone else's clothesline or shoplifted out of a goodwill. He has pale skin and darkened circles around brown eyes. His hair is a medium length, curly mullet-like style that seems to have been hand-cut. He typically wears very unassuming and ratty clothes as people pay him less attention that way. Baseball caps are also a staple, or hooded jackets.

Joe, can more or less freely be both a Hulk or front in Bruce's body. He looks the same as Bruce if a bit greasier in their human-body. He dresses a lot more flashy, in tropical shirts and cheap suits. He also wears sunglasses and slicks back his hair more. As a hulk joe is 6'6, grey, and otherwise pretty similar to the other Hulk's.

Hulk typically only comes out in hulk-form, being a large, green and neanderthal-esque figure. He stands around 7-8 ft tall, though it can vary depending on how angry he is. He's a radioactive green and very muscular, though not chiseled/body-builder in nature. He's built more like a strongman who balances muscle and fat.
AURAL:

Bruce's body (anyone fronting) is voiced by Troy Baker as Bruce in the Marvel's Avengers Game.

Hulk's voice is deep and rumble-y, almost echoing naturally in his own speech.
OLFACTORY:

Bruce's body has no particular scent, other than what may occur depending on what hygiene he has access to or sometimes expensive or tacky colonges if Joe is fronting.

Hulk's body has a sharp smell to it that can go undetected at first, it smells somewhat like ozone and fried electrical wiring.
DEMEANOUR:

Bruce is very closed in, he walks and carries himself like he's trying to be much smaller than he already is. He often fidgets/rubs his hands together and keeps his head down. He doesn't often look people in the eye unless he's more wary of them, instead he keeps a careful eye on peoples body language instead. He doesn't tend to make a big deal of himself and keeps on the edge of things, preferring to be unnoticed.

Joe is grander-than-life. He likes to act the part of a sleazy mobster, which to be fair he IS. Or was. Regardless he hams up how terrible he is in a used-car-salesman kinda way to make sure people don't pay him more mind than they have to or assume he and Bruce are the same person.

Hulk is very emotional. His anger and fear are strong so he comes off as very standoffish and rageful on first meetings, especially because he comes out when Bruce shuts down in anger or fear. He is quick to lash out but cares deeply for his friends and loves to make new ones when he's sure you won't hurt him.
